Founder & Consultant for Intellectual Property Management

Julian Giese is the founder and principal consultant of PLASCONSOL – Plastic & Consulting Solutions, a consulting firm specialized in the strategic organization and economic utilization of intellectual property (IP).

He combines engineering expertise with legal and economic thinking — a combination that is rare but essential in the practical reality of technical companies.

Technical Roots and Industrial Experience
Raised in an entrepreneurial family with decades of experience in international plastics trading, Julian Giese has been familiar with materials, production processes, and industrial structures from an early age.
This foundation shaped his understanding of markets, price dynamics, supply chains, and technical quality standards.
Through his own work in international trading and the sourcing of technical plastics — particularly high-performance polymers and compounds — he developed deep insight into the needs of manufacturers, processors, and end customers.
He understands the challenges companies face at the intersection of technology, innovation, and regulation: from raw material procurement and product development to certifications and sustainability strategies.

Julian Giese completed his Master’s degree in Intellectual Property & Competition Law at Munich Intellectual Property Law Center (MIPLC) ian elite program jointly run by:
Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition, the University of Augsburg, the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and the George Washington University Law School (Washington, D.C.).
his interdisciplinary program brings together legal, economic, and technological perspectives on IP — an environment that shaped his thinking and significantly influences his consulting practice today.
Through close collaboration with international researchers, lawyers, and innovators, he deepened his expertise in areas such as patent strategy, innovation economics, competition law, and technology transfer.
This strong academic background forms the basis of his approach: practical IP consulting at the highest scientific level.

Professional Experience in IP Management
Before founding PLASCONSOL, Julian Giese worked as an IP Manager at one of Europe’s largest paper and packaging manufacturers.
There, he was responsible for IP management, competitive monitoring, and Freedom-to-Operate analyses.
This role provided deep insights into the complex processes of globally operating industrial companies — especially into how IP strategies can be integrated into innovation cycles, product development, and corporate governance.
